Rain of money for Bayern and Bologna: Zirkzee to Manchester

Dutch national team striker Joshua Zirkzee is moving from Bologna FC to Manchester United in the Premier League.

The English record champions announced this on Sunday. The 23-year-old signed a five-year contract with the Red Devils, with a transfer fee of a reported 42,5 million euros. This will be split between last year's Serie A sensational team and FC Bayern Munich.

The German record champions sold the 23-year-old attacker to Bologna two years ago for around eight million euros and secured a 50 percent share in his resale.

At the European Championships, Zirkzee made two brief appearances for the Dutch team against Turkey in the quarter-finals and England in the semi-finals. After two strong years in Italy, United have now activated the contractually agreed release clause of just over 40 million.

Manchester's Dutch coach Erik ten Hag also wants to bring defender Matthijs de Ligt from FC Bayern to the Premier League.
