Juve with a horror idea – Milan trembles their way to victory

Juventus had the opportunity to stay at the top of the table on Saturday, as current league leaders Inter only fight for points against Empoli on Sunday (12.30 p.m.). So the Bianconeri traveled to Sassuolo to put this plan into practice. But as so often, the Neroverdi showed why they are one of the most feared opponents in Serie A and defeated Juve 4-2, who shocked their fans with a disastrous performance. Milan had already won against Hellas Verona 1-0 thanks to an early goal from Rafael Leao.

Sassuolo is considered a team with great surprise potential in Serie A. So the players around Domenico Berardi put the favorites from Turin in a lot of trouble right at the start of the game. It only took 12 minutes for the fans at Mapei Stadium to celebrate for the first time - thanks to a serious mistake by Juve keeper Wojciech Szczesny. Actually, Armand Lauriente wasn't supposed to put the Pole in trouble with his weak shot, but the veteran couldn't hold on to the central ball to make it 1-0 (12th). It also became strange when Juve equalized 1-1 when Matias Vina tried to clear a cross from the danger zone, but sent it into Sassuolo's own goal (21'). Nevertheless, the home team took advantage of the strong first half in the form of Berardi, who scored with his left foot into the corner to make it 2-1 (41st).

Anyone who expected a reaction from Allegri at the start of the second half was definitely wrong. Instead, it was Sassuolo who had the chance to make it 3-1 several times thanks to the goalscorers Berardi and Lauriente. The team from Emilia-Romagna controlled the game with high pressing, while Juve achieved almost nothing offensively. But what is usually the rule in football also applied today: if you don't do it at the front, you get it at the back. Federico Chiesa scored 2-2 out of nowhere with a powerful shot and Juve were back in the game (78th).

But Sassuolo didn't let up and took the lead again after another poor save from Szczesny. The Pole clumsily blocked a shot forward and Andrea Pinamonti confidently headed in to make it 3-2 (82'). Today's Juventus performance could be described as a circus performance at the latest after the 2:4, when Federico Gatti curiously shot a pass from his goalkeeper from the corner flag into his own goal. Max Allegri will have to listen to a lot from the press.

Leao delivers three points for Milan Earlier in the afternoon, Milan beat Hellas Verona 1-0. The Rossoneri, who are not brimming with self-confidence recently after the 1-5 disgrace against city rivals Inter and the 0-0 disappointment against Newcastle United in the Champions League, climbed to second place in the Italian top league, tied on points with Inter.

Nevertheless, the players of the fashion metropolis are unlikely to be satisfied with this passive performance, because apart from Rafael Leao's goal to make it 1-0 (8th), there was little to see of the Milan offensive. Nevertheless, the Rossoneri managed to get the result over time and thus allowed themselves to stay on track in Serie A.

The results Milan – Hellas Verona 1-0 Goals: 1-0 Leao (8th)
