After final debacle: Inzaghi leaves Inter

On Saturday, Inter suffered a historic defeat in the Champions League final against Paris St. Germain. Just three days later, coach Simone Inzaghi took the necessary steps.

The signs of the last few hours were already clear, and now it has been officially confirmed – through a meeting between the coach and the Nerazzurri management. Exactly four years after his move to Inter was made official, Inzaghi has informed the club of his desire to end his time in Milan early – before the end of his contract, which originally ran until 2026 – and accept the offer from Al-Hilal.

Under Inzaghi's leadership, Inter won the Italian Super Cup three times, the Cup twice, and the league once. The 59-year-old also reached the Champions League final twice. The decisive factor in Inzaghi's decision was the great disappointment after Saturday's 0-5 defeat, but even more so the feeling of exhaustion after a long cycle. According to Journal of Sport Como coach Cesc Fabregas will be.

New adventure

Inzaghi will travel to Miami this weekend. His new club will face Real Madrid in their Club World Cup debut on June 18. Al-Hilal (Saudi Arabia), where he is set to receive over €20 million net per year, boasts players such as Joao Cancelo, Ruben Neves, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Malcolm, and Aleksander Mitrovic.
