Official: Victor Osimhen moves to Turkey

With a video on social media, Turkish top club Galatasaray Instabul officially announced the transfer of the former Napoli striker on Wednesday.

Nigerian football star Victor Osimhen is now on loan for Galatasaray Istanbul. The traditional Turkish club announced on the X platform that the 25-year-old's move from SSC Naples to the Bosporus was complete. The attacker will not cost a loan fee, but will receive a net salary of six million euros in the 2024/25 season. The move is possible because the transfer window in Turkey does not close until September 13th.

There has been a lot of fuss about Osimhen at SSC Napoli in recent days and weeks. After several transfer options, including Chelsea FC, fell through, the striker was no longer even in the squad of the team coached by Antonio Conte.
The club even took away his jersey number. In Istanbul, Africa's Footballer of the Year is initially set to replace Mauro Icardi, who will be out for a long time after an injury.
