Reijnders shoots in the fog, Milan triumphs

Despite poor visibility, AC Milan did not let themselves down in their home match against FC Empoli on Saturday evening. Special thanks go to Dutchman Tijjani Reijnders.

Even poor visibility did not stop Milan on Matchday 14 of Serie A. While Empoli fumbled around in the fog to no avail, Álvaro Morata put the home side in the lead at San Siro in the 19th minute. Shortly before half-time, Reijnders added a wonderful drop kick to make it 2-0 (44').

The Rossoneri did not give up control in the second half, and it remained a one-sided match. During a counterattack, Reijnders finally walked through the middle completely alone and sank the ball into the near corner from around 15 meters.

The home win kept Milan in the top 6, three points behind Juventus, who are in sixth place. However, the Italian record champions can pull away again with a win over Lecce on Sunday evening. AC, meanwhile, still has a game in hand.
