The race for Champions League qualification is heating up.

Napoli missed a golden opportunity on Monday evening to secure second place in Serie A. The race for Champions League qualification is now more open than ever.

Napoli lost 2-3 at home to Bologna, who were already out of contention for European qualification. Federico Bernardeschi opened the scoring in the tenth minute. Riccardo Orsolini added another from the penalty spot in the 34th minute, before Napoli's Giovanni Di Lorenzo pulled one back in first-half stoppage time.

Alisson Santos equalized immediately after the restart, making it 2-2. Instead of scoring the winning goal, Antonio Conte's team conceded a third goal in the 91st minute, scored by substitute Jon Rowe. The score remained 3-2 until the final whistle.

The defeat has reduced the reigning champions' lead over fifth-placed Roma to three points. Milan, also with 67 points, sit in fourth place, with Juventus one place ahead. Even Como, in sixth place (65 points), can still qualify for the Champions League.
