Roma stays ahead

Roma secured a routine victory on matchday 20 of Serie A. Meanwhile, Atalanta moved closer to the Champions League qualification spots after their fifth win in the last six games.

Gianpiero Gasperini's team struggled for a long time against a defensively compact Roma side. Clear-cut scoring opportunities were scarce in the first half. After the break, Roma significantly increased the pressure and were rewarded in the closing stages. In the 76th minute, Manu Koné broke the deadlock with a deserved opening goal. Just three minutes later, Matías Soulé made it 2-0, sealing the victory.

Atalanta, on the other hand, got off to a perfect start thanks to Charles De Ketelaere's goal in the 13th minute. Torino tried hard but struggled to find a way through the hosts' defense. Even after the break, Atalanta controlled the game but failed for a long time to put the game beyond doubt. It wasn't until stoppage time that Mario Pašalić finally sealed the victory with a 2-0 goal.

Earlier, Como and Bologna had drawn 1-1. The match between Udinese and Pisa also ended in a draw – 2-2 after 90 minutes.
