It's all over: Bologna kicks Tedesco out.

Domenico Tedesco has been released after only a few weeks at Serie A club FC Bologna, which also held its summer training camp in Vals (South Tyrol).

The club announced this and appointed Raffaele Palladino as his successor. Tedesco, the former coach of FC Schalke 04 and RB Leipzig, had only managed one point from Bologna's first four Serie A matches. The downward spiral in friendly matches had already begun during the summer training camp in Vals.

At the beginning of the month, Tedesco, who coached Fenerbahce Istanbul last season and has also been the Belgian national team coach, verbally attacked the referee in stoppage time during the 2-2 draw against Sassuolo Calcio and continued his outburst in the locker room. The coach received a red card and was subsequently suspended for two matches by the league for "extremely disrespectful behavior".

Since the team of the 41-year-old German-Italian also lost 0-1 in Naples last weekend, Bologna now sits in 16th place after four games. Palladino will now take over. The 42-year-old has previously coached Monza, Fiorentina, and, until this summer, Atalanta in Serie A.
