That was quick! Roma suffered a 2:3 defeat against Bologna on Sunday afternoon and once again made a very poor impression. It took just half an hour after the final whistle at the Stadio Olimpico for the club to go public with a press release. Ivan Juric, who had been under criticism for weeks, was fired.
"We would like to thank Ivan Juric for his work over the last few weeks. He has worked with great professionalism in a difficult environment, and we are grateful for that. We wish him all the best for the future," reads the Romans' statement. This is the third coach to be fired from the capital club this year. At the beginning of January, Jose Mourinho was fired, and Daniele De Rossi succeeded him. The former captain had to pack his bags shortly after the start of the new season. Now Juric is also gone.
Is Mancini coming now?
With four wins, three draws, five defeats and an average of 1,25 points per game, Juric is, in terms of numbers, the worst Roma coach of the past 20 years. A hot name for his successor is Roberto Mancini, Italy's European champion coach. Will Roberto Mancini be the new Roma coach? © ANSA / ETTORE FERRARI / FRR
In the evening match, Inter and Napoli drew 1-1. McTominay gave the southern Italians the lead (23'), but Inter's Calhanoglu equalized before half-time (43'). The Turk could have been a hero after the break, but he missed a penalty. Napoli remain first in Serie A.
