Spectacular rumor: Juve victory becomes a side issue

It's clear: Under Luciano Spalletti, Juventus has once again become a top team. On Sunday, the Bianconeri flexed their muscles in their away match against Parma, securing a convincing 4-1 victory. This win solidifies Juventus' fourth place in the league table, and they continue to set their sights on moving up the standings.

The number one topic of conversation this Sunday wasn't the resounding victory over Parma, but a transfer rumor. Apparently, Juventus are interested in signing Mauro Icardi. The former Inter star, who scored 124 goals in 219 appearances for the Nerazzurri, has been playing for Galatasaray Istanbul in Turkey since 2022. As the Journal of Sport Reports indicate that Icardi's agent has already flown to Istanbul to negotiate with Galatasaray.

Whether this transfer actually goes through will become clear in the next few hours. At Juventus, Icardi would certainly be reunited with his former coach Spalletti: the two have already worked together at Inter and hold each other in high regard. Spalletti recently spoke highly of Icardi at a press conference.

Scandal at Inter game

Inter, however, have taken the lead in the title race. The league leaders won 2-0 at Cremonese on Sunday and extended their lead to eight points. Milan can close the gap again on Tuesday in Bologna. The victory was marred by a flare fired from Inter's supporters' section in the second half, which narrowly missed Cremonese goalkeeper Emil Audero.

On the pitch, Lautaro Martinez (16th minute) and Piotr Zielinski (31st minute) quickly established a clear lead. Inter are now unbeaten in Serie A since their derby defeat against Milan on November 23rd and have won eleven of their twelve matches.
