Tsitsipas and De Winter make the Marassi go crazy

There was an unusual goalscorer on Sunday in Genoa. Not during the Serie A match between the home team and Roma, but during the warm-up. The reason: tennis star Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Amid the roaring cheers of the Genoa fans, Stefanos Tsitsipas took the opportunity to convert a few free kicks from the edge of the penalty area – right before the Serie A teams warmed up. Dressed in football boots and Genoa underwear, the Greek showed why he had been considered a football talent until he was 12 years old.

“I have always loved football. But then tennis got in the way,” Tsitsipas grinned in an interview with DAZNThe current number 12 in the world of tennis confirmed that he has been a Genoa fan since he was a child. "When I played football with my brother, I was always the Genoa team. I particularly liked the logo," said Tsitsipas.

The game itself was not something that Genoa-Tifosi enjoyed for a long time. Until late in injury time, Roma were in the lead thanks to a goal by new signing Artem Dovbyk (37'). But the home team struck with the last move through Koni De Winter (90'+6') and sent the Marassi Stadium - including the noble fan Tsitsipas - completely freaking out.

Napoli without mercy, Atalanta with crazy seconds

The fans in Bergamo also went crazy. Atalanta turned a 1-2 deficit into a 3-2 lead within a few seconds - and all of this just before half-time. Charles De Ketelaere and Ademola Lookman shot the Bergamasques to victory and left a stunned Fiorentina behind. The Tuscans never recovered from this double blow and left Bergamo without any points.

Cagliari also failed to score a point. In the home game against Napoli, Tommy Augello & Co. suffered a 0-4 defeat. During the week, the Cagliari defender had been even more successful. After his parrot escaped, Augello looked for it in a group for missing animals on Facebook. And lo and behold, shortly afterwards the bird was back in the care of the professional footballer. Overjoyed, Augello posted a photo of himself and his girlfriend with the parrot (his name is Timmy, by the way).

Inter draw in evening game

Champions Inter could only manage a 1:1 draw with Monza in the evening match. The Milanese equalised in the 88th minute when Denzel Dumfries was on hand at the far post. Monza had taken the lead through Danny Mota, who headed the ball into the net beautifully (81st).
