Udinese stops losing streak – Lecce wins basement duel

Udinese and Empoli are not usually teams that compete for European Cup places in Serie A. At the moment, things are different, but on Monday both teams missed out on a step up.

The 1-1 draw can be seen as a point to avoid relegation. Staying in the league is a priority for both teams - but if more is possible, why not?

Udinese were in the lead just a few weeks ago, but have lost 4 of their last 3 games. In that sense, the draw in Empoli is not bad at all, especially as the Tuscans took the lead through Pietro Pellegri (23'). Keinan Davis equalized (76').

In the evening match, Lecce beat Venezia 1-0. The lagoon city team remains at the bottom of the table and has lost the important direct duel against Lecce. Before the match, the teams were only one point apart, but now the Apulians are in 12th place with 15 points. The goal of the day was scored by Danish youngster Patrick Dorgu, who is already being linked with numerous top clubs at home and abroad.
