Hats off to FC Südtirol, they've silenced their critics this year: FCS secured a well-deserved 4-0 victory away at Reggiana on Tuesday and are now just one point behind the Serie B playoff zone. Their lead over the relegation zone, however, has grown to nine points. Their record for 2026 is outstanding, with six wins, three draws, and only one loss.
Raphael Kofler led FC Saarbrücken to victory at Reggio Emilia's Mapei Stadium. As one of four South Tyroleans in the starting lineup, the Rabland native headed his team into a spectacular lead before halftime. It was already his third goal of the season. The 20-year-old, whose market value has thus increased, appears to be finally ready for a Serie A move this summer.

Besides defensive leader Kofler, the Davi brothers, Simone and Federico, as well as Fabian Tait and the entire FC Südtirol team, delivered a more than convincing performance. Opponents Reggiana, featuring former FCS player Matteo Rover, managed only one shot on goal. In addition to a magnificent free kick from Daniele Casiraghi, the two top strikers, Silvio Merkaj and Emanuele Pecorino, also scored in the final stages, bringing their season tally to nine and six goals respectively.
The highlights
| Kofler climbs the highest! | What a goal from Raphael Kofler after 39 minutes! Following a free-kick cross from Casiraghi, the Rabland native rose highest in the middle and headed the ball spectacularly into the net from over ten meters. The ball nestled perfectly into the corner. This was Kofler's third goal of the season. The timing was absolutely perfect. Kofler's goal was the clear highlight of an otherwise uneventful first half. |
| Pecorino in bad luck | FCS started strongly after the break and had a great chance to make it 2-0 after ten minutes: After a strong cross from Molina, the substitute Pecorino rose wonderfully in the middle, but his header hit the post. |
| Three goals in eleven minutes | In the final stages, FCS scored three goals in just over ten minutes, increasing their lead to 4-0. Pecorino scored after a cross from Molina, Casiraghi curled a free kick over the wall, and Merkaj sealed the victory in stoppage time. |
FC Südtirol goalkeeper Alessio Cragno was injured midway through the second half of his second consecutive appearance, without any contact from another player, and had to be replaced by Marius Adamonis. FC Südtirol's next match is already on Saturday. At 15 p.m., they will host relegation-threatened promoted side Virtus Entella. Following that, they will face Pescara and Avellino, both teams currently in the bottom half of the table.
