Serie B is also calling for Emanuele Zuelli

Almost a dozen South Tyroleans will play in Serie B next season. The future of Bolzano midfielder Emanuele Zuelli has now also been clarified.

Emanuele Zuelli is one of the great talents in South Tyrolean football. Last season, the Bolzano native managed to get Carrarese promoted from Serie C to Serie B. Now it is clear: the 22-year-old midfielder will also play for the Carrara club next season.

On Wednesday it was announced that Carrarese had acquired the transfer rights of the Talferstadt native. These were previously held by Pisa, from where Zuelli had been loaned. "The player, born in 2001, was one of the protagonists of the promotion to Serie B," Carrarese wrote in a press release. Zuelli has signed a contract until 2026.

The duel against FC Südtirol

When FC Südtirol meets Carrarese on August 27th - on matchday 3 - it will be a very special match. In addition to Zuelli, another local player, Simone Zanon, is under contract with the team from Tuscany. Zanon played 44 games for Carrarese last season, while Zuelli played in 35 games - so the two have earned their chance in Serie B.

The second-highest league is not new territory for Zuelli: with Chievo Verona and Pisa, the Bolzano native has already made 27 appearances in Serie B. Now more are to follow for Carrarese.

Eleven South Tyroleans in Serie B

In the coming season, more South Tyroleans than ever before will play in Italy's lower house of football. In addition to the FCS players Fabian Tait, Simone Davi, Federico Davi, Raphael Kofler and Benedikt Rottensteiner play too Luca Polli (both Sampdoria), David Wieser (Mantua), Simone Zanon, Emanuele Zuelli (both Carrarese) and Lorenzo Sgarbi (Bari) second class.
