FC Südtirol announced on Wednesday afternoon that they had reached an agreement with Treviso for the permanent signing of Rok Vadjunec. The 19-year-old has signed a four-year contract with the club. His appointment had already been anticipated.
“I’m really looking forward to embarking on this new adventure with FC Südtirol. It’s a significant opportunity for me to join such an ambitious club. I’m ready to dedicate myself to the team, work on my development every day, and contribute to achieving the club’s goals,” said Vadjunec. The Slovenian is expected to be the new challenger for the starting goalkeeper position behind new signing Alessandro Plizzari.
Rok Vadjunec played against FC Obermais in Serie D last year.
Vadjunec, who last year played for Treviso at Obermais's Lahn Stadium, has 64 Serie D appearances in his career. Without any experience in the third division, he's now making the direct move to Serie B. Vadjunec apparently fits the profile perfectly for sporting director Matteo Lovisa and coach Davide Possanzini, who expect the goalkeeper to play a key role in the team's build-up play. Current first-choice keeper Marius Adamonis, however, is expected to be sold.
