Against FCS of all teams: Sampdoria's first win of the season

If someone had claimed five years ago that FC Südtirol could further exacerbate an already existing crisis at the traditional club Sampdoria, many would have said they were crazy. At the time, the club from Genoa played in Serie A, the White-Reds in Serie C. Recently, however, the teams have developed in a way that could hardly be more different. This year's start to the season is emblematic of this: before the encounter, Sampdoria was at the bottom of the table with just two points, while FCS was in 5th place. This Saturday, however, the Ligurians showed their true strength and won 1-0.

Coach Federico Valente had to do without several defensive players at the Marassi Stadium: In addition to Andrea Cagnano and Andrea Masiello, Luca Ceppitelli, who had recently been injured, was also unable to play from the start. Nicola Pietrangeli took his place.
