Away in Brescia: “Meeting the team with the strongest form”

After the home win against Feralpisalò, FC Südtirol will play the first away game of the new year in Brescia on Saturday at 14 p.m. The “Rondinelle” are one of the strongest teams in the league, but Federico Valente is still optimistic.

After two defeats in a row, FC Südtirol returned to success against Feralpisalò. Thanks to the 1-0 home win, the FCS climbed to 12th place and currently has 23 points. “After two defeats, we obviously wanted to score again and regain our self-confidence. This week I saw a very concentrated team,” reports Federico Valente.

Now the FCS meets Brescia. Long-time Serie A coach Rolando Maran's team is in impressive form and has scored points in seven of eight league games since he took over. “Brescia is one of the strongest teams in the league. In order to take at least one point from Brescia, we have to be at least as careful defensively as we were last weekend against Feralpisalò,” predicts Valente.

Daniele Casiraghi once again became the match winner against Feralpisalò.

As against Feralpisalò, the injured Peeters, Ghiringhelli, Rover, Davi and Molina will not be part of the game. Nevertheless, Valente is confident. “Our injured players are slowly returning to the squad. Raphael Kofler is healthy again and has been training with the team again since yesterday. With the signing of Tommaso Arrgigoni we also have additional alternatives in midfield.”

Is star signing Kurtic playing?

Last weekend, long-time Serie A professional Jasmin Kurtic celebrated his debut in the White Reds' uniform. According to Valente, the midfielder is not yet ready to be in the starting eleven: “Kurtic knows that he still has to complete a few training sessions. He's training really exemplary at the moment and is really giving it his all. With his enormous experience, he is truly an asset.”

Nicola Rauti is currently placed under Federico Valente.

The one who is sure to be in the starting line-up is Nicola Rauti. “Nicola gives the team a lot of security in the defensive phase and when we have the ball. He knows when to attack and when not to. For me he is an intelligent player who is in really good shape. The way he’s playing at the moment, he’s in the starting line-up,” enthuses Coach Valente.
