FC Südtirol has a national player

FC Südtirol still has one more game to play (on Saturday at home against Cremonese), then there will also be an international break in Serie B. This is the second time in the club's history that the White-Reds have to release a senior national player.

Jasmin Kurtic has been called up for Slovenia's upcoming international friendly matches (March 21 against Malta and March 26 against Portugal). The 35-year-old is only the second current senior national player in the history of FC Südtirol. According to information from the Tagblatt Dolomites was the first Michael Odibe to play his first and only international match for Nigeria in February 2011.

Slovenia and Kurtic have qualified for this year's European Championships in Germany. There they meet England, Serbia and Denmark in Group C. Kurtic chose the FCS in the winter so that he could get match practice for the upcoming European Championships. The two stars in the Slovenian team are Atletico Madrid keeper Jan Oblak and Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko.

In recent weeks, after initial fitness problems, Kurtic has settled into the six-man position at FCS alongside Tommaso Arrigoni. There he harmonizes excellently with Fabian Tait and Daniele Casiraghi. Kurtic has a lot of class and calmness on the ball, which suits FC Südtirol well in the central midfield. The long-time Serie A player has already played 89 international matches for his home country.
