The 0-1 defeat on Friday in Marassi This was FC Südtirol's ninth consecutive winless match. The consequence? The relegation zone is now only one point away – with one round to go.

A home win on Friday against Juve Stabia would save FCS, but in the event of a draw or a defeat, staying in the league would depend on the results of their direct table neighbors Entella and Empoli.

"This is not an easy moment," said FCS coach Fabrizio Castori after the defeat against Sampdoria, "but we still have this one last game to secure direct survival in the league. It's in our hands."

Castori has over 1.500 league games under his belt as a coach, he's the series' record holder – and he knows how to handle situations like this. "This week we need to stay focused, keep our eyes on the final game. Build confidence, recover physically," is Castori's motto, who also announces that they will "take stock after the final game."

Friday is the day it counts.

When asked about the third consecutive defeat, Castori said at the press conference in Marassi: "We didn't deserve this loss. The result doesn't reflect our performance. The game was decided by a single moment; otherwise, it was very evenly matched." Castori may be right about that, but he also knows that a win is essential in Friday's showdown against Juve Stabia (8:30 p.m.) – no matter how. "That's when it counts!" said the FCS coach.
