Huge cheers at FC Südtirol (Photo: DLife).

Three golden points: This is how the FCS is a lot of fun

One thing is clear: If FC Südtirol always plays like it did on Saturday, then the White Reds don't have to worry about relegation. With a narrow but well-deserved triumph over Bari, Fabian Tait & Co. took another step towards staying in the league.

Coach Federico Valente made an appeal to Football South Tyrol before the Bari match: “Stand behind us. We have a common goal!” More than 3.000 fans followed this call – and they saw an FC Südtirol in the Drususstadion who lived the Valente words par excellence. Cohesion, fight and will until the last second: With these virtues, FCS Bari defeated 1-0. A very strong performance!

A victory that is really good for the FCS soul - and not just because the lead over the playout places has now grown to five points. The home crowd, who weren't exactly spoiled by two defeats recently, also realized that this FC Südtirol can be a lot of fun.

The FCS laid the foundation for victory with a bombproof defense - even though boss Andrea Masiello, as always, forewent the match against his former club because of his past as a betting offender. Filippo Scaglia & Co. had excellent tactics and didn't allow a single chance.

“Casi” and “Peco” make the difference

At the front, the FCS professionals seemed extremely happy to play and run. And they went where it hurts, like in the decisive scene in the 60th minute. Emanuele Pecorino followed up on a ball he thought was lost and was mowed down so badly by Bari goalie Oliveira Brenno that he then had to be replaced. Daniele Casiraghi coolly converted the penalty to make it 1-0 - his 13th championship goal.

The highlights

“Peco”A minute and a half have been played when Emanuele Pecorino comes free to finish from seven meters - but he hits the ball over it.
“Fabi”A few minutes later, Jasmin Kurtic plays to Salvatore Molina, who brilliantly lets it through to Fabian Tait, but the Salurner fails to hit the ball properly alone in front of Bari goalie Brenno.
“Casi”He's a force from the penalty spot: Casiraghi coldly converted to make it 1-0 (60') after Pecorino had previously been knocked off his feet.
WildAfter the final whistle there is a pack formation, but soon the emotions at the FCS spill over into pure celebration.

When referee Maria Sole Ferrieri Caputi blew the final whistle after 90 thrilling minutes, there was huge applause for the FCS - and whistles for Bari from the more than 600 fans who had traveled with them. FC Südtirol continues on Tuesday with the away game at Reggiana. The game starts at 18.15:XNUMX p.m.
