FC Südtirol is unbeaten in six games. This run has propelled the Talferstadt team out of the relegation battle and straight into the middle of the table, allowing them to even quietly dream of the playoff spots. However, after their second consecutive draw, they now face a seven-point gap to eighth place, currently occupied by Cesena. To seriously challenge for a spot in the playoffs, FCS desperately needs points. Their opponents, Bari, on Sunday (15 p.m.) could be a welcome opportunity.
On Wednesday, FC Südtirol secured a respectable draw against one of the league's strongest teams. Fabrizio Castori's men confirmed their continued excellent form against Monza, snatching a point from the promotion hopefuls. As in recent weeks, their defense was particularly impressive: in their last five matches, the Red and Whites have conceded just one goal. Led by the strong performances of Marius Adamonis and Raphael Kofler, they have recently managed to effectively neutralize the league's top strikers.

On Sunday, South Tyrol's ace in the hole – their defensive bulwark – should face a somewhat easier task than against Monza. The Red and Whites travel to Italy's neck of the pack to face an opponent embroiled in a relegation battle. Bari has won only one of their last five league matches and, with just 19 goals in 24 games, boasts the weakest attack in Serie B – a challenge that Kofler and his teammates should be well prepared to handle.
Who can crack the Bari bar?
The strength of the southern Italians, however, lies, much like that of the Talfer city team, in their defense. Bari is still holding its own reasonably well in the middle of the table. Accordingly, it will be up to Silvio Merkaj, Emanuele Pecorino, Daniele Casiraghi, and company to break down this defensive wall. Just how difficult that could be is illustrated by a look at their recent head-to-head encounters: In the calendar year 2025, the two teams played to goalless draws in both December and May.Serie B, matchday 25
