For a long time this season, the newly promoted team was languishing in the second division and was considered a sure bet for relegation. But for almost a month now, Pescara has been a completely different team: they've picked up ten points from their last five matches. They could easily have had even more. Most recently, they celebrated a resounding 4-0 victory at home against Bari.
Pescara's resurgence, currently four points adrift of the relegation zone, is closely linked to the name Lorenzo Insigne. The 2021 European champion and long-time Napoli captain returned to Pescara in the winter after his stint in Toronto. Back in 2011/12, as a young player alongside Ciro Immobile and Marco Verratti, Insigne made his mark on Serie B and celebrated promotion with the Delfini.

Verratti, as co-owner of the club, brought Insigne back to Pescara in the winter. The now 34-year-old has already scored two goals in four games. What's more, Insigne is also making his teammates better. Fans at the Drusus Stadium can see this for themselves on Sunday. With Lorenzo Insigne, the next big name will be visiting the Bolzano arena.
