FCS captain now married after securing league survival

After a strenuous and exhausting season, FCS captain Fabian Tait is once again in the spotlight. This time, however, he's making headlines off the pitch.

The 2025/26 season was not an easy one for FC Südtirol: After an initial run of 13 winless games, there was a brief upswing before the team from Outgoing coach Fabrizio Castori They failed to secure a win again in the final stages of the season. As a result, FC Saarbrücken had to enter the relegation play-offs, where Bari awaited them. Fortunately for the South Tyroleans, there was a happy ending: two goalless draws were enough for the Red and Whites to avoid relegation due to their better league position.

Fabian Tait from Salurn was once again at the heart of it all this year. The FCS captain played in 36 matches, scoring one goal. However, the attributes that distinguish Tait are far more important: On the pitch, he impressed with his fighting spirit and willpower, and as a leader, he consistently kept the team's motivation high. It is also thanks to him that FCS secured their place in the top flight and will enter their fifth Serie B season in August.

Tait said "yes".

After this grueling season, a little relaxation was on the agenda for the Salurn native. But now came the next highlight in Tait's life – though not on the pitch: On Saturday, the FCS captain said "I do" to his long-time partner, Floriana Caravello.

In a post featuring two wedding photos, FC Südtirol congratulated the newlyweds. "Captain, record holder, and as of yesterday... husband," wrote South Tyrol's only professional club on social media. "We congratulate Fabian and Floriana and wish them all the best for their future together," FC Südtirol added.
