FCS grades | Whatever happened to Matteo Rover?

Adamonis 6 Cesena shot twice on goal, effortlessly parrying Saric's first shot after 39 minutes, and Tavsan's equalizer found the top corner. He then finished off with three shots wide from a goal kick – and the crowd at the Drusus Stadium murmured. El Kaouakibi 6 Surprisingly, he was given the right-hand spot in the back three. He wasn't entirely flawless, but overall, a good match. He had to leave the pitch after 53 minutes with a knock. Pietrangeli 7 After a weak performance in Mantua, he flexed his muscles again this time. His debut season in Serie B remains a rollercoaster of an up-and-down affair. Horrific performances were followed by stupendous defensive displays. Cesena's attack, led by Cristian Shpendi, was unable to match the man from Rome. The lack of consistency in his performances was a major problem this year, as his qualities are undisputed. Joy 6 He was given the starting spot again, although he's rarely impressed recently and many had expected Andrea Masiello to be in the starting eleven. There were no major mistakes this time. The South Tyrolean back three did a decent job. Molina 6 Less forceful than usual. But if anything happened on the outside, it was through Molina. Praszelik 5 Too passive during Cesena's equalizer. He admitted that after the match. Respect for such honesty. He also made a few mistakes and bad decisions elsewhere. He played in the number eight position this time. Odogwu 6 He provided the assist for South Tyrol's opening goal, but was also fouled by Cesena goalkeeper Klinsmann. Had Pyyhtiä not scored, a penalty would have been awarded. He fought largely without support up front. As the game progressed, he too fell into a passive stance that one isn't used to seeing from him. He missed his strike partner Merkaj. Rover 5 He couldn't take advantage of his opportunity at all. It was a forgettable hour. He couldn't find his bearings at all. Demoralized, insecure, paralyzed by a constant degradation. Giorgini 6 He replaced the injured Hamza El Kaouakibi after 53 minutes and did his job in the back three. He's been on the bench three times in the last four matches. Previously, he was a fixture in the starting eleven. Simone Davi 5,5 Missed a huge chance to make it 2-1. The angle was tight, yes, but not impossible. He should have scored. Casiraghi 5,5 He was surprisingly on the bench at first. When the chance came in the 70th minute, he lacked the necessary coolness and determination. Gori 5 He came on for Rover, but things didn't get any better. He, too, was a complete failure. Tait without a note After his start in Mantua, he returned to the bench and was substituted for Kofler in the final quarter of an hour. Too little to evaluate. Castori 5,5 After the defeat in Mantua, he wanted to see a defensively solid team again. The quick and determined transition when winning the ball barely worked against Cesena. After a focused first half, FC Südtirol was too passive after the break to bring home the three points. Will that be enough to avoid relegation? It's questionable.

Once one of the key players at FC Südtirol, Matteo Rover was demoted to a bench warmer under Fabrizio Castori. On Saturday against Cesena, the striker was once again given the opportunity to start.
