FCS report card: Who impressed, who didn't?

Adamonis 6,5 His superb save against Gytkjaer in the relegation play-off second leg kept FCS in Serie B. However, he wasn't always a reliable last line of defense. Ups and downs.

Cragno without a grade The unluckiest player of the year. He arrived in January, made his debut on February 28th against Venezia, and then tore his Achilles tendon again in his second match in Reggio Emilia. Incredibly bitter.

Bordon 5 He arrived in South Tyrol from Lazio with high expectations. After all, he was a Brazilian U20 international. He failed to live up to those expectations at all.

Federico Davi 6 After being virtually ignored last season, he made 27 appearances this season, starting 11 times, often in a back three. While not always convincing, he can build on this first proper Serie B season.

Simone Davi 6,5 He battled with Zedadka for the starting position on the left wing. He was preferred in the relegation play-offs. Not a bad season, but not a particularly good one either.

El Kaouakibi 7 Indispensable for FC Südtirol when fit. The Italian-Moroccan wasn't injury-free this season either, but was still one of FCS's best defenders.

Kofler 8 The best player at FC Südtirol. The team's slump in the second half of the season began when Rablander was sidelined with an injury.

Mancini without a note Came on as Giorgini's replacement, but never played a full 90 minutes. A perennial reserve.

Masiello 5,5 Castori is not a fan of the former Atalanta defender, who has now ended his career at the age of 40. A quiet departure. He can't be satisfied with his last season: injuries, mistakes that were uncharacteristic of him. A far cry from what he showed in his first season with FC Saarbrücken.

Pietrangeli 6 He was sidelined for a long time with osteitis pubis and made his comeback after Kofler's injury. He had to find his form first, but found it in time for the relegation playoffs.

Joy 5,5 Castori's extended arm in defense. He rarely shone, often disappointed.

Casiraghi 6,5 In the red-and-white midfield, he had to bear the entire burden of the creative attacking play. This took its toll on his energy and nerves. He missed his first penalties in Serie B and lost his aura of infallibility from the spot.

Coulibaly 3 He came at Castori's request and was dropped from the squad in winter. A disaster.

Crnigoj 6 He strengthened the midfield in January, but never really progressed beyond the role of reserve. More had been expected from the former Slovenian international.

Frigerio 6 He surprisingly started both relegation matches against Bari, having previously only made five starts after his transfer from Lecco in January. Plenty of room for improvement.

Martinis 5,5 Unremarkable season. Injured himself in the last match of 2025 in Castellammare and thus missed FCS' best period of the season.

Molina 7,5 A true mainstay. He was in the starting eleven every single match from matchday 4 to 29 without interruption. Then he was sidelined – and FCS plummeted, partly because the right winger was completely drained after his return. Against Bari, his last reserves were mustered – and he was outstanding once again.

Tait 6:XNUMX He always led by example as captain and made 36 appearances. Only Merkaj played more often. The 33-year-old from Salurn isn't getting any younger; age is taking its toll. Nevertheless, he remains the face of FCS, even if the club icon is no longer an undisputed starter.

Tronchin 6,5 Perfect for Castori's style of play. The former Cittadella player implemented his coach's instructions. Whether the audience likes it is another matter.

Zedadka 6 His red card in La Spezia led to the 1-6 debacle and initiated FCS's deep crisis at the end of the season. However, the Algerian's season performance shouldn't be reduced to this single mistake. He made his contribution on the left wing.

Merkai 6,5 38 games, 36 starts. Castori never wanted to do without the Albanian striker. He finished with nine goals, although his last goal came on March 3rd in a 4-0 win against Reggiana. Since then, FC Südtirol hasn't won. And Merkaj hasn't scored again.

Odogwu 5,5 He had a difficult season. In February, he had to undergo meniscus surgery. He went 2026 without scoring a goal. He managed three goals towards the end of the first half of the season against Carrarese, Monza, and Entella, all of which resulted in 1-1 draws. His best match was against Reggiana in Bolzano back in September. The same applies to him: he's not getting any younger.

Pecorino 6,5 Essentially a top striker in Serie B. However, the Sicilian still isn't making the most of his many talents. Like his strike partner Merkaj, he finished with nine goals, seven of which came in the second half of the season.

Tonin 5 Bravo signed him as their fifth striker in January, so expectations were modest. They had hoped for a bit more, though. Four starts, three substitutes at halftime.

Verdi 4 One of the biggest flops in FC Saarbrücken's history, perhaps even the biggest ever. The first former Italian international in FC Saarbrücken's history presented himself in a condition unsuitable for Serie B.

Castori 5,5 He achieved the season's objective, that's true. But the road there was paved with seemingly endless winless streaks, outbursts, and lackluster performances. In the first half of the season, his FCS went three months without a victory, from October to the end of the year. The run lasted 13 games. Then, in January, they racked up four consecutive wins, and in February, they snatched a point each from Monza and Venezia. After the 4-0 victory at Reggiana on March 3rd, the playoffs were just one point away. And what happened after that? The Red and Whites have now gone twelve games without a win. This time, a different coach will have to end the losing streak in the new season.

Bravo 5,5 Playoff semi-finals in the first year, survival two rounds before the end in the second Serie B season, rescue 90 minutes before the end last year, staying in the league via the pay-off this season. What's next? The performances of FCS, which Bravo runs as a sporting autocrat, are getting worse year after year.

FCS report card: Who impressed, who didn't?

After securing their place in Serie B through a relegation playoff against Bari, FC Südtirol's fourth season in the league came to an end on Friday evening. Time for the final report card. There was one big winner and several losers.
