Against Ridnaun selection: FCS celebrates shooting festival

The white-reds won 20-0 against the hosts of the Ridnauntal selection on Saturday evening in the Stange sports center near Ratschings.

In the late afternoon of this Saturday, July 20th, FC Südtirol played its first test match of the new 2024/25 season. In bright sunshine and in front of an enthusiastic crowd, the white and reds met the hosts of the Ridnauntal selection. The match was played in the Stange sports center near Ratschings, where coach Federico Valente's team is currently completing its summer training camp.


The match in Stange ended with a 20-0 victory for FC Südtirol (6-0 at half-time). FCS used the game to optimise its game systems and teamwork after the first few days of training.

Odogwu scored the first goal of the new season after just four minutes, taking a pass from Federico Davi on the right. Odogwu doubled the score in the 12th minute with an overhead kick from the centre of the box and also scored the third goal, this time with a header. Giorgini, Odogwu again and captain Tait also scored before half-time.


In the second half, coach Valente made a complete change to the team. After four minutes, Merkaj scored the seventh goal for FCS. Two minutes later, he missed a penalty that was well saved by Volgger before scoring two more goals. Crespi then scored six times, Rover twice, and Mallamo, Lonardi and Kofler once each.

Wait for further appointment

Next week, the White-Reds will play their second and final test match of the training camp in Ridnauntal. On Thursday, July 25, captain Fabian Tait and Co. will face St. Georgen in the Stange sports center near Ratschings. Kick-off is at 18.00 p.m.

Another friendly match is scheduled for Wednesday, July 31st. FC Südtirol will face Serie D club Lavis at their home FCS Center in Rungg – kick-off is at 17.00 p.m.

On Saturday, August 3, the three-way tournament between Serie A club and Champions League participant Bologna and German Bundesliga club Bochum will take place at the Drusus Stadium in Bolzano. The tournament will be played in a round-robin format, with three games of 60 minutes each (two halves of 30 minutes).
