Suffered, but survived: FCS scores points in Carrara

FC Südtirol secured a victory in Carrara, in front of tennis star Lorenzo Musetti. This means the Red and Whites remain undefeated in their fifth match of the new year.

FC Südtirol can live with the 0-0 draw against Carrarese. The Tuscan side were the better team for large parts of the match on their home artificial turf, dominating possession and creating some good scoring opportunities. However, because neither side created many truly clear-cut chances, the 0-0 draw is ultimately a fair result.

For FC Südtirol, one streak comes to an end while another continues. Fabian Tait and his teammates remain undefeated in 2026, but for the first time, they have failed to win. The club record of four consecutive Serie B victories therefore remains intact. A win at the Stadio dei Marmi would have seen Fabrizio Castori and his team make club history.

The most important scenes

Zedadka injuredBefore kickoff, there's bad news for Castori. Zedadka is unavailable. Simone Davi will take his place in the team at short notice.
A balanced 45 minutesThe first half was evenly matched. South Tyrol often ceded possession to Carrarese but struggled to launch counter-attacks. The home side lacked that final touch in attack.
FCS in luckAfter the break, Carrarese applied more pressure. The impressive Bolzano player Zuelli initiated an attack, and Rubino's shot struck the post (54'). Adamonis was on hand to deal with several half-chances.
Zanon decisiveFCS's best chance came after a cross. The ball rolled slowly through the penalty area, and Simone Davi attempted a shot. At the last moment, Zanon blocked the attempt, preventing a certain goal.
FCS survives the final phaseIn the closing stages, Tuscany pressed hard for the win. Kofler, like Zanon at the other end, made a crucial save to deny Abiuso (84'). In stoppage time, Zanon appealed for a penalty after Davi made the save. The referee waved play on.

FC Südtirol now faces a busy week of fixtures. On Wednesday (19 p.m.) they play Monza at home. Then they travel to Bari (Sunday, 15 p.m.).
