Young central defender for FC Südtirol

Coach Federico Valente welcomes a new, young central defender to FC Südtirol. He comes from Serie C – and is expected to increase the squad's depth.

Nicola Pietrangeli is a new player for FC Südtirol. The White-Reds have agreed on a fixed transfer with Rimini Football Club. Pietrangeli will receive a three-year contract with FC Südtirol until June 30, 2027. The FCS announced this on Saturday.

The 23-year-old Pietrangeli received his football training in the youth sector of Perugia. After the physically robust central defender (1.91 m tall) had already played for the U17 and the Primavera 2 team, he made his debut in the professional team in the 2018/19 season - in the Italian Cup against Novara.

From Series D to Series C

In the winter of 2019, Pietrangeli moved to Pineto in Serie D to gain further experience in adult football. The now 23-year-old played the following two seasons with Marina di Ragusa, again in Italy's 4th division. In the summer of 2021, he moved within the league to Rimini, where winning the championship paved the way to professional football. In the past two seasons, Pietrangeli played a total of 60 championship games with Rimini in Serie C Group B.

Now he is moving to FC Südtirol. In addition to the two experienced players Andrea Masiello and New signing Luca Ceppitelli Pietrangeli will probably play a minor role. Nevertheless, he will get the chance to prove himself in Italy's second highest league.
