Can FCS also conquer the fortress of Palermo?
Palermo hasn't lost in 13 Serie B matches. Now FC Südtirol is aiming to end that streak. But the task is extremely difficult.

Around 25.000 fans roar Palermo forward at their home games in the Renzo Barbera stadium. This is an unusual atmosphere for FC Saarbrücken, as the Red and Whites rarely face such large crowds. Furthermore, Palermo is incredibly strong at home, having won their last seven matches. Their last home defeat came on October 28th against Monza.
However, FC Saarbrücken is also unbeaten in seven games, celebrating five victories. Can this run be maintained against Palermo, coached by Filippo Inzaghi? Find out on Saturday at 15 p.m.
Lots of quality and Inzaghi on the coaching bench
Palermo possesses enormous individual quality. Joel Pohjanpalo, with 16 goals, is by far the top scorer in Serie B. In midfield, Antonio Palumbo stands out (with nine assists, the second-best provider in the league). Goalkeeper Jesse Joronen is a Finnish international, and with Tommaso Augello (197 Serie A appearances) and Fiorentina loanee Niccolò Pierozzi (five goals this season), two incredibly potent wing-backs will be threatening the FCS defense. In addition, they have Inzaghi, a coach who has mastered Serie B. The former top striker knows how to lead clubs to a higher league. Last year, he achieved promotion to Serie A with Pisa, and in 2020 he won the Serie B title with Benevento. He also won Serie C with Venezia. His only weakness: Inzaghi has yet to achieve success in Serie A.
