Lorenzo Sgarbi's reunion with FC Südtirol

Last week, FC Südtirol was reunited with former youth player David Wieser. This Saturday, the White-Reds will face Bari, where Lorenzo Sgarbi, another South Tyrolean, is under contract.

After a dream season and the recommendation of 7 goals and 15 assists in 34 Serie C games with Avellino, Lorenzo Sgarbi moved to Bari in the summer. After a bumpy start, the Bolzano native is now on the sidelines. When he meets his youth club FC Südtirol on Saturday (15 p.m.), the attacking player will probably not play a major role.

Sgarbi has only played 37 minutes in the last 11 games. That's not a lot for a player who came to Bari in the summer with high hopes. After the best season of his career at Avellino, Sgarbi wanted to make a breakthrough in Serie B. But after at least regularly coming off the bench at the start of the season (and collecting 2 assists in the first 6 games), he is now hardly in demand.

In the Avellino jersey, Lorenzo Sgarbi was one of the best professionals in Serie C.

On the one hand, it is related to a system change. Coach Moreno Longo started the season with a 4-3-2-1 Christmas tree formation. He now plays a 3-5-2 or 3-4-1-2. The Uruguayan Cesar Falletti is set to play at number ten, where Sgarbi prefers to play. And Bari also has a top-class attack with Andrja Novakovich, Giuseppe Sibilli and former international Kevin Lasagna. There is simply no room for Sgarbi.

transfer rights at Napoli

Lorenzo Sgarbi, born in 2002, was trained at Napoli. Before that, he played in the youth sector at FCS. After seasons at Pro Sesto, Renate and Legnago, he made it to Serie B in the summer. The transfer rights of the former U18 international still lie with Napoli. Sgarbi is currently in 7th place in Serie B with Bari.
