An FCS opponent grabs Niklas Pyyhtiä

Finnish midfielder Niklas Pyyhtiä breathed new life into FC Südtirol in the second half of last season. Now he's moving to rivals.

Although he only played for FC Südtirol for half a year, Niklas Pyyhtiä still left his mark. The Finnish midfielder was a huge asset in the second half of the season, as the White and Reds secured their place in Serie B thanks to a phenomenal comeback.

It was quickly considered unlikely that FCS would be able to retain Pyyhtiä beyond the summer. The 21-year-old Finn returned to his home club Bologna (Serie A) after the season and has now been loaned out again. Pyyhtiä will play for Modena next season—and thus for an FCS opponent. Modena finished 11th in Serie B last season.
