Palermo bids farewell to Val Gardena with a draw

Palermo's nearly three-week training camp is drawing to a close. The final match on Wednesday ended in a draw.

Since July 10th, Serie B club Palermo has been preparing for the new season in Val Gardena. For almost three weeks, the team trained hard under the guidance of former star striker Filippo Inzaghi. On Thursday, after 20 days, they return to their Sicilian home.

To conclude their preseason preparations, Palermo played a friendly match on Wednesday evening against Greek first-division side Iraklis Thessaloniki. Iraklis is coached by Walter Mazzarri, a well-known figure in Italy who has also managed Inter Milan, Cagliari, and Napoli. The two teams drew 1-1, with Jérémy Le Douaron scoring early for Palermo. After the break, Rob Nizet equalized for Iraklis.
