Cyclists welcome: FCS with a special initiative

FC Südtirol and the Tour of the Alps have entered into a partnership. In addition, the Serie B club is attracting all cycling enthusiasts to the Drusus Stadium on Saturday for the home game against Cremonese.

A few weeks before the start of the Tour of the Alps 2024, which, among other things, runs through South Tyrol, the makers of the cross-border stage race were able to land an extremely well-known partner in FC Südtirol. The partnership between the TotA and the FCS includes several initiatives, the first of which is already taking place on Saturday: On the occasion of the home game against Cremonese, the White-Reds are calling on all football fans to come to the Drusus Stadium by bike and are rewarding all participants with free monitored parking spaces and other benefits.

At 11 a.m. - three hours before the start of the game - a monitored bicycle parking lot opens in the entrance area of the Bozen Lido next to Triester Straße, which all fans can use free of charge. When you hand in your bike, you will receive a voucher for a free non-alcoholic drink at the stadium bars as well as a voucher for special Tour of the Alps gadgets, which will be distributed inside the stadium at the Zanvettor stand.

But that's not all: all fans who arrive by bike will also receive a discounted ticket for the FC Südtirol home game, which is scheduled for April 20th. On this day, Cittadella will be a guest at the Drusus Stadium. The discounted ticket costs 10 euros, which is 12 euros less than a ticket for the full ticket price.

FCS guests at the Tour of the Alps

Further highlights with a focus on cycling are planned for the game between FC Südtirol and promotion hopefuls Cremonese. All cycling fans can put their skills to the test on a skills course that is set up in front of the stadium by the South Tyrolean State Cycling Association.

When things get really serious at the Tour of the Alps in April, FC Südtirol should also be represented in the front row. This particularly applies to those stages that are held on South Tyrolean soil. While several FCS players will be at the official team presentation on April 14th, captain Fabian Tait will make his big appearance at the second stage on April 16th starting in Salurn: The midfielder, who comes from Salurn, will be doing the honors at the start of the stage swaps his white and red jersey with the overall leader of the tour.
“Maybe we can get some people to switch to bicycles.” Hannes Filehner, Club Manager FC Südtirol

Another FCS activity is planned in the starting area of the second stage, which will involve both the field of riders and the spectators and will provide entertaining entertainment.

“It is a great honor for us to stand alongside the Tour of the Alps and to be able to promote this major international event under the patronage of the city of Bolzano. Sustainable mobility is very important to us, so we want to use the partnership to raise awareness of this among our fans. We know that many of our spectators regularly come to the stadium by bike - and who knows, maybe with our initiatives we can get one or two of them to switch to bikes too,” emphasizes Hannes Filehner, Club Manager at FC Südtirol.
