Riccardo Ciervo: 21 years young – and already experienced so much

“I'm a shy boy, a bit reserved and need time to open up,” says Riccardo Ciervo about himself. “But then I'm a cheerful person.” The new winger also needed some time to get going at FC Südtirol to record. His artificial shot to give Palermo a 1-0 lead ultimately didn't bring any points, but it did illustrate the outstanding abilities of the 21-year-old from Latina.

For Ciervo, the goal at the Barbera Stadium in front of 25.000 spectators was his first professional goal. “And definitely the best thing since I started playing football,” emphasized the newcomer, who came to South Tyrol from Sassuolo on loan in the summer. Ciervo sees the first goal with the “big boys” as a milestone, “just like the Serie A debut for Sampdoria and the summer training camp at Roma under José Mourinho two years ago.”
