South Tyrol hosts Monza: Will the points streak continue?

As part of the Serie B fixture schedule, FC Südtirol faces a tough challenge on Wednesday. The second-placed team from Monza will visit the Drusus Stadium at 19 pm.

FC Südtirol faces another crucial test on Wednesday evening. At their home ground, the Drusus Stadium, the Red and Whites host Monza, currently second in Serie B. This match will provide a stark indication of how resilient the Talferstadt side's recent upward trend truly is, especially with one of the league's best teams looming. Kick-off is at 19 pm.

Following the goalless but intense draw at Carrarese last weekend, FC Schaffhausen remains undefeated this calendar year. Fabrizio Castori's team has stabilized in recent weeks, keeping several clean sheets and securing a top spot in the league's form table for the last five matchdays. Step by step, the Red and Whites have closed the gap on the playoff places, and fans are now sensing a chance for a possible playoff appearance.

However, the Talferstadt team will have to do without the suspended Silvio Merkaj against Monza, as well as Karim Zedadka, who injured himself during the warm-up against Carrarese, and Nicola Pietrangeli and Jacopo Martini. Federico Davi and Simone Tronchin, on the other hand, are back in the squad.

Whose run will stop?

The visitors from Lombardy also travel to Bolzano brimming with confidence. After their relegation from Serie A, Monza, under coach Paolo Bianco, have quickly rejoined the top of the table and recently celebrated three consecutive victories. Hernani, in particular, has proven to be a valuable addition since his winter transfer: the Brazilian has already scored three goals in five appearances. Monza also boasts enormous individual quality with players like Matteo Pessina, Andrea Colpani, Andrea Petagna, and Patrick Cutrone.

Under the floodlights and in front of their home crowd, FC Südtirol aims to take the next step. The conditions are right to challenge the favorites, and another point would not only extend their winning streak but also send a clear message to their rivals.

By the way: Pupils and students can purchase tickets for Wednesday's game at the reduced price of 5 euros.
