More routine for the FCS: Ceppitelli comes

FC Südtirol presented its first new signing for the 2024/25 season on Friday. The defender comes from Feralpisalò, but has plenty of Serie A experience.

Central defender, 154 games in Serie A, 178 games in Serie B and soon to be 35 years old: FCS sporting director Paolo Bravo has once again reached into the shelf labelled “experience” when he signed Luca Ceppitelli.

Ceppitelli has enough quality. Two years ago he was still playing with Cagliari in Serie A. He spent a large part of his career with the Sardinians. He played for Cagliari from 2 to 2015. Ceppitelli has also played professional games for Perugia, Venezia, Andria, Bari and Feralpisalò. The central defender comes to South Tyrol from the latter club on a free transfer after his contract expired on June 2022th.

Ceppitelli has signed a one-year contract with the white-reds. Together with Andrea Masiello (38), he could form an extremely experienced defensive duo at FCS. The South Tyroleans were already the oldest team in the entire Serie B in the spring.
