Serie C playoff: Sunshine, but no goals

Due to heavy rain, the first leg of the Serie C playoff final between Union Brescia and Ascoli had to be abandoned after just over an hour on Tuesday evening. The match resumed the following day with the score at 1-1.

In the 29 minutes (plus stoppage time) that completed the first leg of the Serie C playoff final between Brescia and Ascoli, not much happened: instead of the rain, the sun was now the focus, but the score remained 1-1 at the Rigamonti Stadium.

Brescia had their best chance of the day after the match in the 90th minute: Marras got a shot away with his left foot, but fired over the bar. The fourth team to be promoted to Serie B will be decided in the second leg on Sunday at the Del Duca Stadium in Ascoli. Kick-off is at 18 pm.
