New chapter for the Obermais crime series

FC Obermais' Serie D campaign continues on Sunday (2:30 pm) with a home game against Calvi Noale. This match is one of the most important of the season, and a defeat could have serious consequences.

FC Obermais has been focused on two main goals since the start of the second half of the season. First: to avoid finishing in the bottom two places, as these teams are directly relegated to the Oberliga. Second: to prevent the gap to 13th place from growing to more than seven points, because then there will be no relegation playoff.

The first goal has been achieved so far by South Tyrol's only Serie D club. Having barely slipped up in direct matches, they have moved away from the relegation zone within just a few weeks. Obermais has a six-point lead over 17th place. However, the gap to 13th place is currently exactly seven points. But there is still hope.

Two injured people have returned.

When Obermais meets Calvi Noale on the Lahn River on Sunday at 2:30 p.m., more than just three points are at stake. Their opponents are currently just ahead of Obermais in the standings, but have three more points. A victory would be immensely important, as it would allow the Toccoli-coached team to set their sights on 15th place. Last autumn, they suffered a bitter away defeat against Calvi Noale, who were then quite far behind in the table. The time for a sporting revenge is therefore ripe.
Armand Smrcka is fit again for the final stretch of the season.

Armand Smrcka is fit again for the final stretch of the season.

Positive news has arrived for coach Flavio Toccoli from the medical department. Armand Srmcka and homegrown talent Stefan Turini are fit again. The Viennese player could prove to be an important "new signing" in the final stretch of the season. He is the most technically gifted midfielder, and this could be a crucial factor, especially in the spring when the pitches improve. Furthermore, Samuel Villgrattner (recently suspended) is available again.
