Obermais in Sinich: Team spirit leads to home victory

FC Obermais is facing a series of direct clashes. On Sunday (2:30 pm), South Tyrol's only Serie D club will host bottom-of-the-table Portogruaro.

There's already a setback for Obermais before the match even kicks off. Due to the current weather conditions, the game against Portogruaro cannot be played at the Lahn stadium. Instead, FCO will move the match to Sinich – as they did against Este at the beginning of January. A win against the bottom-of-the-table team is essential on the artificial turf pitch south of Merano.

FCO coach Flavio Toccoli has been emphasizing team unity this week. Obermais's strategy for the match against bottom-of-the-table Portogruaro (only one point from their last eight games) is clear: We are the group that desperately wants to stay in the league!

Kilian Bauernfeind will play in Sinich on Sunday, as they did against Este at the beginning of January.

Looking at the league table, it's clear that a home win against Portogruaro is essential. The visitors are languishing in last place with just ten points from 21 games, currently seven points adrift of a relegation playoff spot. Obermais, on the other hand, is only one point behind Adriese, who currently sit in 16th place. That position would ultimately be enough to secure a relegation playoff spot.
