Virtus Bozen snatches up the top talent from the lower Adige Valley

Alongside FC Obermais, Virtus Bozen will also be represented in Italy's fourth division next season. The club from the provincial capital is working hard on its squad and has secured one of South Tyrol's most promising talents.

A South Tyrolean derby in Serie D is the icing on the cake for the upcoming season. After Obermais secured their place in the top flight and Virtus Bozen won the Oberliga title, the two clubs will face each other twice next season. It's also a clash between South Tyrol's two largest cities – Merano and Bolzano.

With the elimination of youth regulations in the Oberliga (fifth tier), Virtus Bozen needs to strengthen its squad, particularly in this area. The provincial capital club has taken a first step by signing Jacopo Mandaglio. The attacking player from Salurn (born in 2009) emerged as the league's rising star last season. Now he aims to take the next step in Serie D.

The newly crowned Oberliga champions have signed another player from the Landesliga, 21-year-old full-back Hasan Meta (Olimpia Meran). They have also signed another youth player, 18-year-old Trentino defender Nicolò Eccheli, who joins from Oberliga side Union Trento.
