Now there is a lot of activity on South Tyrol's football pitches

South Tyrol's football pitches are slowly but surely getting back to full activity. In the next few days, several professional teams will even be setting up their training tents here.

This Friday, Germany's only Bundesliga team, 1. FC Heidenheim, will be playing in Natz for the third consecutive season. In addition to daily training sessions, Frank Schmidt's team will also play a public friendly against FC Wacker Innsbruck on Tuesday, July 15. Heidenheim, which only managed to avoid relegation this year in the relegation playoffs, will remain in the Eisack Valley until next Saturday.

German third-division team SSV Ulm (featuring Lukas Mazagg from Glurns) is currently in Mals and will play a friendly against Serie D newcomers FC Obermais on Friday at 18 p.m. FC Südtirol then kicks off its traditional campaign in the Ridnaun Valley on Sunday. Next Saturday, they will play their first friendly against ASC St. Georgen.

This weekend, three more traditional second-division clubs, Kaiserslautern (Sterzing/Ratschings), Nuremberg (Gais), and Arminia Bielefeld (Kiens), will visit the eastern part of the country. At the beginning of next week, the two Serie A clubs Torino (Prad am Stilfser Joch) and FC Bologna (Vals), with star signing Ciro Immobile, will visit the region. A highlight will certainly be the friendly match between first-division sides Torino and Cremonese on July 26 at the sports field in Prad.
