José Mourinho went ballistic.

Mourinho's outburst causes a stir

Star coach José Mourinho caused a scandal with a gaffe after his club Fenerbahçe Istanbul's quarter-final exit in the Turkish Cup.

The 62-year-old Portuguese player grabbed Galatasaray Istanbul coach Okan Buruk in the face after the 1-2 extra-time defeat, as seen in videos on social media. Okan, who was touched on the nose, subsequently fell to the ground in a rather theatrical manner, holding his face.

Several security personnel then rushed to the scene to defuse the situation. Okan wanted to celebrate the victory with his team after a particularly heated Istanbul derby. The final whistle had resulted in 15 minutes of stoppage time alone. A scuffle broke out in front of the substitutes' benches shortly before the end. Referee Cihan Aydin then showed three players red cards. Two of them had sat on the bench for the entire match.

Fenerbahçe missed another chance at a title at home. Mourinho and his team were eliminated in the Europa League round of 16 last month. In the Turkish league, Fener is currently second, six points behind league leaders Galatasaray, having played a game in hand.
