Cup clash: Bayer vs. Bayern

The pairings for the DFB semi-finals were drawn on Sunday evening.

FC Bayern Munich will have to play their DFB Cup semi-final away from home on their way to the final. The record cup winners will face Bayer Leverkusen. In the other semi-final, defending champions VfB Stuttgart will host SC Freiburg in a Baden-Württemberg derby. The draw, conducted by Olympic luge champion Max Langenhan, was broadcast on ZDF.

The semi-finals will be played on April 21st and 22nd; the exact schedule is not yet finalized. The final will take place in Berlin on May 23rd.

Bayern Munich are aiming to reach the final for the first time since 2020 (4-2 against Leverkusen). Stuttgart (2025/4-2 against Bielefeld), Leverkusen (2024/1-0 against Kaiserslautern) and Freiburg (2022/2-4 on penalties against RB Leipzig) haven't reached the final that long ago.
