Record! Galatasaray makes Osimhen their most expensive player

Galatasaray Istanbul has broken all previous records in Turkish football with the permanent transfer of Victor Osimhen.

The 26-year-old striker had helped the club win the league title on loan last year. Galatasaray announced on Thursday that they would pay €75 million to SSC Napoli to acquire the Nigerian on a permanent basis. The previous Turkish record was €20 million, which city rivals Fenerbahçe paid for Youssef En-Nesyri last year.

Osimhen signed a four-year contract with Galatasaray, which, according to the club, will earn him €15 million net per season. Additional bonuses will be added. Osimhen was already the Italian top scorer when Napoli won the league in 2022/23. Galatasaray had already made headlines this summer with the signing of former German international Leroy Sané. Former Austrian national team player Yusuf Demir has recently struggled to find playing time in the star-studded squad. The 22-year-old former Rapid player has a one-year contract with the Turkish champions.
