Test match double: Italian and German teams equal

This Saturday afternoon, two friendly matches took place in South Tyrol, in which an Italian and a German team faced each other. Both matches ended without a winner.

In Kaltern, the Serie A club Empoli, which is preparing for the new first division season in Natz, met the German third division club FC Ingolstadt, which has set up its training tents in Latsch. In 2017, the Schanzer, coached by Sabrina Wittmann, were still playing in the Bundesliga, and in South Tyrol the first building blocks for promotion to the second division are to be laid.

Empoli, on the other hand, is in the top division in Italy and managed to stay there at the last minute last season. The squad also includes two former FC Südtirol players, Luca Belardinelli and Emmanuel Gyasi. The match ended goalless in a 0-0 draw.

Bielefeld also equalised against Spezia

Meanwhile, in St. Christina, the Serie B club Spezia Calcio, which is preparing for the new season in Val Gardena, and the third division club Arminia Bielefeld, which is completing its preseason preparation in Kiens, met.

Edoardo Soleri scored the first goal for Spezia in the 29th minute after the Germans failed to clear the ball from their own penalty area. Nevertheless, Arminia earned a deserved draw thanks to a goal to make it 1-1 by Kaito Mizuta from Japan in the 79th minute.
