US league bans Messi's bodyguard

Major League Soccer has banned Lionel Messi's bodyguard from the sidelines.

Yassine Cheuko – a former member of the Navy Seals – was assigned to provide security at Inter Miami's games for the global star, who has been playing in the USA since 2023. In videos circulated online, his sprints against intruders who had invaded the pitch caused a stir. As Cheuko has now explained, the league now wants to take care of security itself – much to his dismay.

"I worked in Europe for seven years in Ligue 1 and the Champions League, and only six people rushed onto the pitch. In the US, it's now been 20 in just 16 months. This is a huge problem. So let Messi help me," Cheuko told the social media platform "House of Highlights."
