Passeier: Golf for a good cause
Last Saturday, the Passeier Golf Club in St. Leonhard was the venue for the fifth edition of the FISI Golf Charity Cup "White Meets Green". Young athletes, sponsors, patrons, friends and officials of the South Tyrolean Winter Sports Association were invited to this golf tournament. The event was for a good cause, as 27.000 euros were collected for the FISI South Tyrol funding system.

The FISI Golf Charity Cup is not only a traditional meeting place for officials, sponsors and friends of the South Tyrolean State Winter Sports Association, it is also a platform for the funding pot that is distributed among the South Tyrolean clubs every year. The money collected at "White Meets Green" is paid in full into the funding pot and then distributed among the local winter sports clubs. At the fifth edition on Saturday, a total of 27.000 euros was raised from 44 different sponsors.
It started on the golf course in St. Leonhard with a white sausage breakfast, then it was time for the sport. All participants were divided into three performance groups according to their handicap. In the first category, the President of the South Tyrol State Winter Sports Association, Markus Ortler, won with 41 points, closely followed by Philipp Putzer (40) and Daniel Fuchsberger (38). In the second category, Moritz Müller won with 42 points, one point ahead of Stefan Berlanda (41), with Karin Schnitzer (40) coming in third. In the third category, Simon Lochmann provided a demonstration of power, with 60 points he was 12 points ahead of the runner-up, his brother Tommy Lochmann (48). Peter Paul Tschöll came in third with 47 points.

The Lochmann brothers, who played for Autoservice Glurns together with Emil Hofer, also won the team rankings. Together they scored 134 points. The gross winners were Manuela Mahlknecht (22 points) for the women and Lukas Holzner (37 points) for the men. Lukas Pichler achieved the “Longest Drive” for the men on hole 3, while Kerstin Müller won the women’s title on hole 18. The “Nearest-to-the-Pin” prize went to Michele Grossi on hole 14 and Markus Ortler on hole 9.
Cozy get-together at dinner
After the golf tournament, the program in St. Leonhard was not over yet. There was a three-course dinner on the program. At the same time, President Markus Ortler took the opportunity to thank all sponsors, patrons and friends of the South Tyrol State Winter Sports Association. Among those present at this time were several guests of honor. Regional Councilor Rosmarie Pamer, Coni South Tyrol President Alex Tabarelli, Armin Hölzl (Director of the Sports Office), Christian Haas and Verena Stuffer (Italian Winter Sports Association FISI), Rainer Senoner (President of the Val Gardena World Cup), Georg Gasser (Managing Director of South Tyrol Sports Aid), Roby Demetz (President of the Ski Instructors Association), Michele Tessadri (Autoindustriale) and many others were present.In addition, some athletes were briefly brought on stage. Andrea Vötter (luge), Marion Oberhofer (luge), Alex Insam (ski jumping) and Aaron Kostner (Nordic combined) - all from the FISI South Tyrol initiative Top & Talent - talked about their preparations for the season and their expectations. Immediately afterwards, Rainer Senoner presented the trailer for the 2031 Ski World Championships, which he and his team brought to Val Gardena three months ago. After dessert, a tombola was organized, where some great prizes were raffled off.
