As early as the afternoon, when the young athletes from Sing Noi Muay Thai opened the "Pre-Card" event, the hall at the Sheraton Hotel in Bolzano was almost completely full. The young talents delivered consistently strong performances and proved that coach Stefan Mohr's training program is ideally positioned for the future.
The main events then offered pure sports drama. Braiton Zeni kicked things off, putting his opponent Marco Cipollaro under so much pressure that the fight had to be stopped in the second round due to a cut on his opponent – victory by technical knockout. In an extremely exciting and closely contested exchange of blows until the very last second between Ahmet Ahmeti and Filippo Meoni, neither fighter gave an inch, with Meoni ultimately securing a narrow victory on points.
Lukas Tschager made a particularly impressive statement in his professional debut, dominating Filippo Pratesi at will for all three rounds. Karin Stauder's comeback was an emotional affair: in a technically superb duel against Briton Lucy Wainwright, she ultimately lost by the narrowest of margins on points.
Pircher delivers a masterclass.
Then came the moment all of South Tyrol had been waiting for. Since the Thai fighter Mongkutpetch had to withdraw due to injury, the world-class athlete "The Star Sit Cho" stepped in at short notice. After a tactically focused first round, Magdalena Pircher took control from the second round onward and delivered a veritable Muay Thai masterclass. The boxer from Bolzano was on a completely different level, landing heavy blows time and again that visibly shook the Thai fighter. With impressive precision and tactical maturity, Pircher controlled the action in the ring at will. She landed pinpoint elbows and powerful kicks, and ruthlessly countered almost every move her opponent made. Her superiority at a distance and in close quarters left no doubt as to who would leave the ring victorious. With this dominant win, Pircher once again proved that she belongs to the absolute world elite and more than deserved the Intercontinental belt.
