Price wrestling at 2.000 meters altitude

Under glorious summer weather, the traditional VSS/Raiffeisen prize wrestling competition and a Hogmoar wrestling competition were held on the Gampiel Alm in Pfunders on Sunday, July 5th. A total of 46 wrestlers competed for victory in front of numerous spectators.

At an altitude of 2.047 meters, the alpine pasture once again provided an impressive backdrop for the exciting competitions, in which 46 wrestlers demonstrated their skills. Numerous spectators followed the thrilling matches and created a lively atmosphere.

The large number of participants once again underscores the high regard for wrestling. Despite the climb to the alpine pasture, numerous wrestlers and interested spectators gladly made the journey. "This impressively demonstrates that this traditional sport remains vibrant and is pursued with great enthusiasm by young and old alike," said VSS Vice Chairman Thomas Tiefenbrunner and VSS representative Markus Wolfsgruber.

The guests' physical well-being was also well catered for. Hut owners Manuela Weissteiner and Andreas Huber, together with their dedicated team, treated the numerous guests to traditional specialties.
