The wrestling competition was once again a complete success.

The VSS/Raiffeisen wrestling competition took place on May 17, 2026, in the unique setting of the South Tyrolean Museum of Ethnography in Dietenheim. The event coincided with International Museum Day, impressively combining sport, tradition, and culture.

Amidst the museum's ancient courtyards and historic buildings, a total of 43 wrestlers engaged in exciting and fair competitions. Participants from the Ahrntal, Terenten, and Passeier clubs, as well as the newly founded Sarntal wrestling club, delivered top-class matches and thrilled the audience with their skill.

“The wrestling competition in this special setting was a great advertisement for our traditional sport. I am particularly pleased that, in addition to the established clubs, the newly founded Sarntal wrestling club also participated. This shows that wrestling is alive and well in South Tyrol and will continue to play an important role in club life in the future,” emphasized VSS district representative Armin Niedermair.

The VSS/Raiffeisen wrestling competition in Dietenheim once again proved how vibrant and popular wrestling is in South Tyrol. After many exciting matches, these were the winners in the various categories:
